To open the Control panel simply left click with your mouse over the start button which is located at the bottom left corner of the screen. Then left click on Control panel. The Control panel in Windows 7 gives you the opportunity to make system wide changes so you need to be careful. It is better if you give your child a limited account so they can not accidentally ruin your Operating system.
