To compliment this site and all the online computer tutorials on offer I have setup a computer help forum where you can go to ask your questions.
Windows 7 autoplay feature so that when you put a DVD or CD in to your drive the operating system knows what to do with it. We all have our own software which we prefer to use at times. So when I put a music cd in to my PC the Operating system will autimatically open VLC media player. Some people will prefer it to play with Windows media player, the good thing here is we can change the options in the ontrol Panel.
So lets take a look at how to do that, you will first need to open the Control Panel, you do this like so.
1, Left click on start
2, Left click on Control Panel
This will open a new window like in the screenprint below.
Now if you look you will see the option for "AutoPlay"
You need to double left click on this.
You will then have a new window in front of you like below.
You will notice several drop down boxes on this page so start at the top of the page where it says "Audio CD" and left click on the drop down box this will give you several options like in the screenprint below.
From the drop down list you need to left click on the software you want to play audio cd's on your PC.
Now just work your way down the list for each option. Your next one being "Enhanced audio CD"
Once you have chosen your deault software for each one in the list go to the bottom of the page and click on "Save" like in the screenprint below.
When you click on "save" it will close the "AutoPlay" window and take you back to the "Control Panel" your options will have been saved. So the next time you want to play a music CD or watch video the software you chose in the options above will automatically be chosen.
