I create quiz software in my spare time this page will tell and show you about the quiz software I create. The first part of this tutorial showed you how to work with the user interface. If you missed it you can click this link

Anyway now I will show you how the Admin side of things work. When you start this software you will see the login box. Look and you will see a button which says "Admin Login Here"

When you click on it you will see another login box appear like this one below. I have created a default username and password for the Admin. You will find these details in a text file included within the download. Type in the username and password and press the "Enter" button.

You will then see another window open like mine below. I know your tinking WOW this is good :) Anyway let's look at the screen for a minute and talk a little about what it all does. You can see there is quite a lot of controll here.

Before you are alllowed to add questions to the database you need to scroll to the end of the database. I wont delve to much in to why this is but imagine you are writting on piece of paper and you fill the first half of the paper up. There will not be on any room at the top of the paper for you to write anything. So you will obviousley go to the next available line right? Of course you will unfortunately that is at the bottom of what is allready there. A database works the same way, in my software when you open this software it starts at the top of the database. So if you want to add new data you first neeed to scroll it to the bottom.

Anyway thats enough of that

Let's create some questions and answers for this quiz.

Click on the button which looks like this twice you will then see a message box pop up which looks like now click OK to make it go away.

You know need to get to the start of our database so we can start on our questions that means clicking on this button untill you see a messagebox which says

That's it, I think that should take you less than a minute which is not to bad. We are now ready to start with setting questions and the timer.

Setting the timer

It is best for you to set the timer now while you are at question 1. Lokk at the image above and you will see where it says "Set Quiz Timer" You will see a scroll bar on one of the little boxes that looks like this You use the up and down arrows to either add 1 number or minus 1 number. Set the timer to your desired time. and then press the button which looks like this. You will then see a message box pop up and say "Data Updated" this means setting the time worked. Remember the timer has been done in seconds, I have created a small chart to give some guidance. You can see that in the screenprint above.

We can now start on the questions.

OK you can see where it says question and option1,option2,option3, right? look below.

OK so write your question in the box where it says "question" then where it says "Option 1" write your first answer. Now continue to write 2 alternative answer in the boxes where it says Option2 & Option3.

Now you need to select which one of these answers is correct you can do this by clicking on one of the radio buttons. Look at my example above my question is 2 x 2 the answer is Option1 so I clicked on radiobutton1. I then needed to confirm my answer so I clicked on the button which looks like this.

I then had a message box pop up and say "Data Updated" That is question 1 compllete you now need to scroll to question 2. This is quite simple just click on the button which looks like this you will now see question 2 in the database. Just follow the same procedure as question 1,eventually you will get to the last question in the database. You will then see a messagebox pop up telling you "no more rows"
